Ear maize is a farmland grown feed resource, which increases farm sustainability by limiting purchasing of off-farm feeds, transport and cost of energy for drying (Capraro et al., 2014). Ear maize has also been proposed as an ingredient for organic pig farming (Millet et al., 2005).
